Statement:
The characteristics of my weaving are more focused on the transformation of the basic structure than on the techniques. Each particular material enables me to enjoy maximum subtleness and boldness at the same time, and I cannot help loving fiber art creations. The aim of my work is to convey a genuine Korean atmosphere and its cosmic space through rich color, shapes, forms and material quality. Therefore, I try to link the Korean tradition with modern trends. The direction of my art is derived from the dimension, simplicity and philosophical mesage in its expression. I really hope to be able to express the candor and truth of my weaving art.

Clay, Wood, and Paper: Materials for Korean Art
Philadelphia Art Museum
October 6, 2007 - Summer 2008
Clay, wood, and paper are essential materials employed for Korean art and craft. They are extremely versatile, allowing for the creation of a wide range of works of art, including paintings, sculpture, crafts, and wares for everyday use. This exhibition from the Museum's Korean art collection, which spans over 1,500 years, explores the diverse applications of these materials in both traditional and contemporary art.
