Basho to Spun Steel features eleven of Japan's most famous and influential textile designers who have contributed their vast talents to creations by Issey Miyake, Yohji Yamamoto, Rei Kawakubo and Jack Lenor Larsen. This film inspired the Structure and Surface exhibit at New York's Museum of Modern Art in 1999 and has been broadcast on PBS.
