Sekimachi’s woven books comprise a body of small-scale work that she had been creating continuously since 1980, along with origami boxes of Japanese paper treated with persimmon tannin, bowls made of hornet’s nest paper and delicate, fragile, skeletal leaf vessels – always using natural materials."
