Thursday May 29th 11:15 am- 12:15 pm Weaving Tapestries into Buildings Helena Hernmarck’s tapestry designs are derived from the local environment, often encapsulating the great outdoors on a monumental scale. Her commissions include two tapestries for the 1967 World's Fair in Montreal; three for the Cunard Lines's QE2; Skidmore, Owings & Merrill's Weyerhaeuser headquarters in Tacoma, Washington; and four seasonally rotating tapestries in the lobby of the Time Warner Center apartments in New York.
